Weakness and Resistance is a game mechanic in Buck: Legacy.

Weapons gain +1 Combat Strength when they are dealing damage to a Monster who is weak to that damage, the Adventurer also wins parries automatically.

Weapons lose all Combat Strength when they are dealing damage to a Monster who is resistant to that damage.

If a weapon deals damage which the Monster is both weak and resistant to; the weapon loses all combat strength, but the Adventurer wins parries.

Damage Type Description Good against Bad Against
Blade Weapons with a sharp edge for slashing. Fleshy Monsters. Monsters with a hard shell or armour.
Blunt Weapons with a hard surface for bludgeoning. They are powerful, but Bulky. Monsters with a hard shell or armour. Fleshy Monsters.
Thunder A magical element that delivers an electric bolt of energy. Aqua Type Monsters. Grounded Monsters.
Flame A magical element that burns with a white hot flame. Nature Monsters. Aqua Monsters.
Holy A magical element that purifies with a blinding light. Chaos and Undead. None.
Chaos A magical element that oozes hatred and resentment. None. Nagapon.
Instant A physical or magical projectile. Everything. Nagapon.
Staff A weapon that hurls a neutral magical projectile. Everything. Monsters with magical defence.
Oscillator A weapon that emits strong Teslonic frequencies.  Everything. Gauss robots.
